NOT: "must" ve "have to" genel anlamda birbirlerinin yerine kullanılabilirler. Ancak aralarındakiince fark; örneklerde olduğu gibi;
I must go. ( Ben gitmeliyim, benden kaynaklı bir mecburiyet.)
I have to go. ( Başkası gitmemi istiyor, dışarıdan gelen bir mecburiyet)

Must 1: yardımcı fiil.
1. Şart belirtir:
You must do it. Onu yapman şart.

2. Gereklilik belirtir:
You must do it. Onu yapman lazım.

3. Kuvvetli bir tahmin belirtir:
You must be freezing. Dondun herhalde. Ertuğrul must have done it. Herhalde Ertuğrul yaptı./Ertuğrul yaptı demek.

4. Kızgınlık / yakınma / istihza belirtir:

5. Kararlılık belirtir:
